🛡️ PrivateGPT to solve ‘AI privacy’ issues
🧪 AI coding announced for Google Colab
⚡ Zapier announces new AI features
🧠 Knowledge Nugget: Numbers every LLM developer should know
Let’s go
PrivateGPT to solve ‘AI privacy’ issues?
Private AI has introduced PrivateGPT, a product designed to help businesses utilize OpenAI's chatbot without risking customer or employee privacy. PrivateGPT is an AI-powered tool that redacts over 50 types of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) from user prompts prior to processing by ChatGPT, and then re-inserts the PII into the response for a secure and seamless user experience.
This allows companies to remain compliant with data protection regulations and prevents personal information from being exposed due to bugs or data breaches.
Why does this matter?
Data privacy has been a matter of concern ever since AI chatbots like ChatGPT took center stage. Samsung’s ban on staff’s use of AI is one example. PrivateGPT will address this issue to a great extent. However, it currently obscures private information. Users should still prevent AI’s access to proprietary information such as codebases and data sheets.
AI coding announced for Google Colab
Google Colab is set to introduce AI coding features, including code completions, natural language to code generation, and a code-assisting chatbot, powered by Codey, a family of code models built on PaLM 2. Codey has been fine-tuned on a large dataset of high-quality, permissively licensed code and customized specifically for Python and Colab use cases.
In addition to code generation, an integrated chatbot will be available to assist users with their questions directly in Colab.
Why does this matter?
Google has been aggressive with its AI announcements lately. The AI coding functionality will rival Github Copilot by Microsoft. With more similar launches expected in the future, the developer experiences are reshaping as we speak.
Zapier's new AI beta features simplify workflow management
Zapier announced two new AI beta features.
The first feature allows users to create Zaps using plain English. Users can describe what they want to automate, and Zapier will draft a Zap that can be customized or published immediately.
The second feature allows users to turn a sentence into code.
Users can describe what they want to do, and Zapier will generate custom code for them. This feature allows users to customize their workflows without writing code, making it more accessible to non-technical users.
Why does this matter?
This will hopefully save a lot of time & effort and make the automation process more accessible to users who may not have a technical background. The no-code code feature will be particularly helpful for non-technical users who may not be familiar with coding languages.
Knowledge Nugget: Numbers every LLM developer should know
What numbers related to prompts, price, training & fine-tuning, and GPU memory can help an LLM developer optimize ROI?
Refer to this cheatsheet below. 👇
Why does this matter?
With all the hype around LLMs, companies aren’t thinking twice before emptying their pockets. However, it’s the ones with optimized operations that are going to survive in the long run. As an LLM developer or business owner, knowing which numbers matter the most will pay huge dividends in the long run.
